Why We Don’t Simply Use Powdered Plant Extracts Plants?
Why Plant Extracts Don’t Dominate Our Skincare
Because we’d rather begin with the plant itself.
At Tea-Licious Skincare, our philosophy has always been different.
Instead of purchasing processed powdered extracts and adding a tiny amount at the end of a formula, we start at the beginning—with real tea leaves, herbs, flowers, and botanicals.
It’s slower.
It’s more work.
But we believe it’s worth it.
Every Plant Has a Story
Plants aren’t just containers for one “magic” ingredient.
A tea leaf contains hundreds of naturally occurring compounds. A flower is more than a single antioxidant. A herb is more than one isolated molecule.
When plants are commercially processed into powdered extracts, they’re often standardized around one or two compounds. That creates consistency for manufacturers, but it isn’t the same as working with the botanical in its original form.
We believe the whole plant deserves more respect than that.
Our Ingredients Begin Long Before They’re in the Jar
Before a cream is mixed…
Before a lotion bar is poured…
Before a soap is made…
Our botanicals are already working.
We slowly infuse carefully selected teas into nourishing oils for weeks, allowing time—not high-speed manufacturing—to do the work.
This isn’t a shortcut.
It’s the foundation of every formula we create.
Why Take the Slow Road?
Because shortcuts have never interested us.
Adding a powdered extract to a finished cream is quick.
Buying a pre-made botanical base is quick.
Mass-producing thousands of identical batches is quick.
Slowly brewing botanicals for weeks before formulation is not.
Yet that’s the method we’ve chosen because we believe craftsmanship still matters.
The Difference Is in the Beginning
Most skincare companies build a formula first and then add botanical extracts.
We build the botanical first.
Our slow-infused oils and teas become part of the formula itself rather than acting as an afterthought.
That difference shapes every product we make.
Transparency Matters
We’re not interested in asking you to trust clever marketing.
We’d rather show you exactly how we work.
If we’re asking you to trust us with your skin, then you deserve to know where our ingredients begin, why we chose them, and why we continue to make them this way.
For us, skincare isn’t about following the fastest manufacturing process.
It’s about honoring the plants, respecting the formulation, and creating products with intention from the very first ingredient, that also respects the skin it will touch.
Because great skincare doesn’t begin in the mixing bowl.
It begins long before that—with the plant itself.
